Rate Your Dive Ability

 

 

When discussing charter trips,  it is good to have a common language to understand a diver’s diving ability. The definition below will help us communicate better, and help me better plan your trip.

 

Beginning Diver-  

Capable of hunting in 5 to 20 feet of water.

Static breath holds of  30 seconds to 1.5 minutes.

This diver is capable of swimming with fins  for 1 to 2 hours in zero to light current.

 

 Intermediate Diver-

Capable of hunting and lying on the bottom calmly rested in 30 to 50 feet of water repeatedly for 3 hours.

Static breath holds of 1.5 to 3 minutes.

This diver is capable of swimming with fins continuously for 3 to 5 hours in light to moderate current.

 

Advanced Diver-

Capable of hunting and lying on the bottom calmly rested in 60 to 120 feet of water. Able to work 60 to 70 feet calmly rested, in moderate current repeatedly for 6 to 8 hours.

Static breath holds of 2.5 to 5 minutes plus.

This diver is capable of swimming with fins continuously for 4 to 8 hours in moderate to heavy current.
